In his first Solo Exhibition here Don MIchael Swartzentruber offers up an odd selection of Views from the Sideshow.These paintings are playfully dark and on the rather smart side. Not quite kitsch, possibly lowbrow but very definitely wonderful: these paintings offer a resonant respite from the highbrow/academic and superfluously banal paintings that abound in today's commodity culture.
